Bahadur Yigana

Biography

Yigana, Bahadur (1922-1984), a poet with the nom de plume Yigana. He was born in Qazwin. Having completed his primary and secondary education, he worked for the Interior Ministry. Later, he studied at the Faculty of Law, but following his graduation, he studied at the Faculty of Letters, proceeding towards a PhD. He served at the governor’s office in the Fars province. He departed Shiraz for Tehran in 1964 and composed lyrics for the Gulha programs and served on the Musical Council until 1979. He wrote an introduction to the Diwan of ‘Ali Ashtari, a poet with the nom de plume Farhad. Yigana died in Tehran.
