Biography

Khalil Muradpur (b. 1931), son of Mirza Aqa. He rarely used his nom de plume Iman. Born in Kermanshah, he received his primary and secondary education in his hometown, where he later taught at schools. Having worked as a teacher for 31 years, he retired in 1978. He attended the literary circles of his hometown where his poetry was exposed to critiques. He preferred to compose poetry in the form of ghazal, though he has also composed chahar-paras. The following lines are by him:

In her memory by distressed heart,

Was wholly consumed by the grief of separation.

Embraced by the grass like the sorrowful reed,

I sang the story of my misery.

Sukhanwaran-i Nami-yi Iran-i Mu’asir (1, 435-438).
