Rustam Khuriyani, Khuriyani, Rustam (d. 1428), Khwaja Husam al-Din Rustam Khuriyani, a Persian poet, with the nom de plume Rustam, hailing from Khuriyan, a village in the vicinity of Bistam, hence his appellations Khuriyan and Bistami. He was attached to ‘Umar ibn Miranshah’s court for a while and eulogized him, though his main patron was Ulugh Beyg ibn Shahrukh for whom he made numerous eulogies. His divan that comprised numerous qasidas, ghazals, and qit’as is not extant. In his qasidas, he follows the models of the Khursani poets of the 13th and 14th centuries and he modeled his ghazals on his distinguished predecessors, e.g. Rumi, Sa’di, and Hafiz.
