Nami Tehrani, Mulla Afzal (b. 1519), a poet from Tehran with the nom de plume Nami. He was a disciple of Mawlana Umidi Tihrani from his own youth to the death of his master and composed a chronogram on the death of the Mawlana. Nami died in his youth. According to Tuhfa-yi Sami, the cause of his death was poisoning, as popularly believed, by the Nurbakhshiyya Order. His name is recorded in al-Dhari’a as Afzal Turka. His works include a divan of poetry.
