Qahramani, Shukri (1871- c. 1948)
Well-known as Shukru’llah Khan, a prominent instrumentalist performing on the tar in the Qajar period. A student of Mirza Husayn Quli and Darvish Khan, he developed a simpler, less classical, and more popular method of performance on the tar. Maestros like Murtaza Mahjubi and ‘Abd al-Husayn Shahnazi were influenced by him. He was also a close friend of ‘Arif Qazvini. A number of his compositions were performed on the Gulha-yi rangarang and Yik shakh-i gul programmes. Gurther information about him is unavailable. No solo albums of his have been released.
