Tajbakhsh, Mahmud (1925-1999)

Violinist and violin instructor. his main teacher was Abu’l-Hasan Saba. He performed in various orchestras from late 1940. He also taught the violin at the National Conservatory (Honarestan-e Musiqi-ye Melli-ye) under the directorship of Ruhu’llah Khaliqi (1949-1959) and performed in numerous early recordings of the Gulha-yi Javidan and in the Golha orchestra (1955-1966). None of his available compositions are famous. His solo performances on the sitar were recorded privately and they are available. He played a peripheral role in the Golha programmes as an instrumentalist performing at the early Golha orchestras (1955-1968).
