Shahida-yi Qumi, a poet who traveled to Isfahan and later to India, where he died. The following couplets are by him:
In the manner of the flame, I have devoured my heart in fire,
I’m the fire blown from the heart of fire.
A door of release may be opened to me by that of a cage,
I’ve flown from the nest in some hope.
Asar-afarinan (3, 357).
