Vala, Lu’bat (Shaybani; b. 1930), daughter of Muhammad Husayn bearing the title Zahir al-Sultan. Born in Tehran, she received her primary and secondary education in her hometown. She studied journalism and before her graduation, she pursued her journalistic career in Paris, London, and San Francisco. She embarked upon her career in Tehran from 1948 contributing her articles to newspapers and periodicals under the noms de plume Fitna and Hamsaya. She was the editor-in-chief of the Tihran-i Musawwar for a while. Her works in prose and verse appeared in different periodicals. She emigrated to the United States after the Revolution and did not return to Iran. After a while, she settled in London where she resides now. Her works include: two collections of poetry, Raqs-i Bad-ha and Gusasta; a book in prose entitled Ta Waqti Kih Khurus Mikhanad.
