Dadbih, Jahansuz (1920-2001)

Jahansuz Dadbih’s fame as a vocalist was solely due to his specialization in a single type of classical Persian singing, namely his abilities in performing the musical mode of Dashtistani. He was not a professional musician and his background was in the legal profession and in Sufi mysticism. His singing was mainly recorded in private concerts and parties although he was also featured in Barg-i sabz 115 in the Golha programmes. The famous vocalist Muhammad Riza Shajariyan studied the correct and most effective method of singing the Dashtistani mode with him. No album of his has been released.
