DESCRIPTION

Radio Tehran, The General Directorate of Publications and Radio, is a Persian language journal published monthly in Tehran from 1956. The magazine covered news related to Iran Radio and its weekly program, including Radio Kudak programs. Radio Tehran changed its name to "Radio Iran" from issue No. 20 in April 1958. Sarguzashat Surud va Tarana written by Dr. Hidayat’ullah Nayyr Sina, The Golha radio program written by Davud Pirnia, musical notes written by Mushir Homayoun Shahrdar, short stories by Husayn Quli Musta‘an were among the regular features of the Radio Iran Journal. Ruhu’llah Khaliqi, ‘Ali Akbar Kasmaʼi, Muhit Tabataba’i, Ziya al-Din Sajjadi, Sa‘id Nafisi, Husayn Masrur, Pizhman Bakhtiyari, Parvin Gunabadi, Subhi Muhtadi, Mulud ‘Atifi, Anvar Khama’i, ‘Abbas Furutan, Habib Yaghma’i, Muhammad Riza ‘Asgari and others also were regular contributors. Nasiru'ldin Shah-husayni was the managing editor and imprint owner of the magazine.

Radio Iran introduced the works of young artists and painters who went on to become famous artists, and Iranian Miniatures were published on the front and back covers of the journal.
