DESCRIPTION

Tufiq was a humorous and satirical Persian-language weekly in Iran with about half a century of activity from 1923 to 1971.The first issue of Tufiq was published on May 20, 1923 , and its publication continued in three discontinuous periods. The first period was from 1923 to 1939 under the management of Hossein Tawfiq. The second period was under the management of Ali Tufiq the son of Hossein and lasted from 1940 till 1953. The third period was managed by the Tufiq brothers: Hassan, Hussein and Abbas, it began after a four year gap in 1958 and continued under the brothers direction for the next 32 years. On the back cover to reminded people it was not affiliated with any group they wrote "Tawfiq is a national and independent newspaper that does not depend on any party, faction or population" and "the official organ of the Jackass Party".
